hey guys i just finished making this air box adapter it replaces the standard plate and opens the hole up to 80mm. It is cnc machined 6061 ally. I would like to know if any of you would like to buy one? the price will be close to $80. If i get enough names i can make them, also the more names i get the cheaper i can sell them... let me know

top idea mate, you could even have an angled lip on the inside so a pod filter bolts straight on

looks like your gonna sell a few of these :)

any chance you would make them longer?

I was thinking of puting a ba intake on my ef but with the ef box.

from what i know the hose from the ba intake wont reach the box unless there is a longer adapter.

the first lot i make will be the same size as this, i.e have already got that size material. but if i make them again i could definatly make a few changes, all your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i have made 3 of these so far and they will be going on my xhxr6, an AU xr6 ute and an AU SR sedan. i will let you know the feedback and everything befor i start making them.

Looks good. This is something I made up a while ago but the pipe goes into the box and uses the original rubber to connect either the original induction piping or an after market 3" pipe. Just a different approach, food for thought.

Hey FaBz, i have the BA intake tube on my EL airbox, it will reach, it's just that it needs to be stretched slightly. The clamps that come with it hold it on the airbox very nicely. It cost me around $40 from memory.

Ahh now i see what i have done haha. The intake pipe attached to the throttle on the DOHC engine is pointing more toward the airbox than the pipe on the EL SOHC engine.

Soooooo, if you get a BA throttle pipe and flex pipe only then will it reach the airbox.

did you cut the center out of the rubber? that is a pearler of an idea. is the k&n pod better than a k&n panel filter?

you could i guess. but the idea is to make everything bigger i just replaced my standard pipes with 3in stainless. you don't have to make any bends as you can use the standard elbows. its not ideal but untill i get my pacemakers and a proper mandrel bent intake, it will do.

I make a rough guesstimate that if you rolled out that pod filter you would see its area to be similar to a panel filter. I only see hassles and cost in using a pod inside the box. Am i misssing something? Sound? Swirl?
