first time this has ever happened, had my air con on and noticed that when taking off the car was almost stalling and accelerating up to speed was very slow, as soon as i turned the air conditioning off it was fine again.. whats going on? the cars an ef futura

my guess would be your compressor and/or the clutch has seized

had the same happen to me a while back - it happened at night and the compressor clutch was glowing a very red shade of red

new compressor / new filter dryer, expansion valve & flush needed + regas

Yep..... Definatly compressor seized.
A good way to check is to pull your serpentine belt off and try spin the centre part of your compressor, the clutch part not the pulley. I did this with the refrigerant lines disconnected and didn't budge. So I knew it was the compressor.
