Guys I was trying to work out how much gain is to be had in a i 6 if fuel ratios were taken from 10 to say 12.5? Also without a chip.

Has anyone had success or results from this?

10:1 seems a bit f*****g rich to me

more fuel doesnt mean more power!
all car companys richen there engines more than needed just so that they last long even if there floged day in day out. thats why when chipping a ecu, most of the time u will get more power and use less fuel as it will put less fuel in than standard and change ign timing to compensate.
for example fitted a chip into a 03 wrx and before it was running down to 11.4 a/f and after chip was 12.9. and got around 35 more power and use less fuel.

thats exactly what they said, they want less fuel.
and they want to know the gains of doing so.

sorry my mistake read it wrong.

much gains are to be had, just things to look out for are engine will run slightly hotter, so changing of oil more offen is needed.
and depending on chip but usually they require 98 octain nothing less.
just a matter of deciding what chip to get and how much u want to spend

well u will get more power and usually a good amount, apart from a/f will have to change ignition timing as well, but the piggyback chip will look after all that.

I ended up with 125 rwkws with air fuel of 10...the chip shop thinks there is 150 rwkws to be had because of how bad it is. I was hoping to see what people did get.

It seems I have heard plenty about chips in AU's make heaps of power, especialy when there are other mods.
JMM uses a UNICHIP in his dev 3's doesnt he?

JMM don't use a chip on anything but their Dev5a.

I thought the post was about the AU dev packages. Was talking about that the dev 3 package (which is the 'second level' AU dev kit?)

Like your AU Useless, isnt that what the thread was illuding too?

... *scratches head*

well if i get some money i will find out for you.

But looking in to it I have found the same story before a few times with I6's

A/F in the 10's and rwkw around 128 going to 141rwkw and 12.6:1

same cammed engine 132rwkw going to 150rwkw with unichip. So thats ign advance gains tuning on Optimax and A/F ratio giving the gains so at a guess there is 10-15% more to come from better air fuel ratios and another 5% from ign advance and tuning for PULP only.
