Hey guy's ,

What's the best stuff to flush my radiator with ? I've reverse flushed my EL with the garden hose and got a hand full of s**t out of the cooling system . I've noticed that the engine runs cooler but I still think there's still a heap more in the radiator .

Can you describe how to do this? Can it be done without losing all coolant (recently done a flush).

Cheers.

I think flushing solutions are overrated. I used it on my last flush and it got bugger all out. I just fill up with water and run it for 10 or so mins then pull the bottom hose out (not the plug - get's more out via hose). I wont be getting a solution next time.

We made a contraption out of an empty gas bottle and a few hoses, a really big hose which attached to the filler neck of the radiator and an air compressor. Fill bottle (140 odd litres) with water, compress to about 80 pounds if not more, then flip the valve open and stand way back. Whoosh one very clean cooling system.

just a thought. when i was putting my led's behind the speedo, i had accidentally shifted the position of the temp needle. i know my el always used to sit at the start of the normal bar when at normal running temp. mabye someone has previously screwed around with the temp needle on your cluster?
