Hey...

Ive got a problem with something to do with the alternator. Ive tried replacing the alternator, but it is no good. The big wire coming from the alternator is connecting to the battery as i got a big spark from it when i earthed it. Can anyone help???

Also the rockers are really noisy, ive just put at shaved and ported EF head on the car with an elxr6 cam, and ea mpi rockers, but for some reason they knock really loudly. any ideas.....cheers

With the alternator could you give more info?
Car not cranking?
Low charging voltage?
Alt warning light on all the time or intermttently?
Noise?

With regards to the lifter problem:
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but...
If the EL cam is off a post Jan 98 car then the rocker ratio is different
( 1.8 vs 2 ) and you will need to use the rocker gear off a post Jan 98 car.
You would also need the HLAs as their diameter is diff from EAs.
At the moment your lift and duration could be all over the place.

If the cam is off an earlier ( pre Jan 98 ) model then you might
need to check rocker clearances and maybe adjust / change shims.
