Hey just had a browse though a few pages from the search option typed in "noisy lifter" and found a s**t load of them a few suggested oil changes eetc etc to get ride of the noise...

Here is the story... Took my missus car to work and left mine at home... got home and then i took my car for a drive and drove to the train station to pick up missus and when we left the falcon took off and a clicking noise appeared then it went... started to drive and get up to road speed and the clicking was constant... got home popped the bonnet and it sound like a single lifter or tappet was making the noise.. this noise was louder then a normal lifter / tappet noise...

what should i do.. the other posts suggested flush the oil and put some high grade oil in and some nulon lifter free up or something....

It could be oil related, but if it just happened out of the blue, chances are something may have gone snap.

Take the rocker cover off and see if any of the tappets are sitting right or if one is missing or something wrong with rockers.

Worth a look. I took my rocker cover off to change the cam and found this.

Good luck.
