had the car on the dyno today doing 3rd gear runs.

i had the needle at about the 210km/ph mark b4 the rev limiter came in.

i just got the stocker computer in my eb2.

just interesting how they are suppose to have a limiter but there are some mystery ones that dont...

unless my diff change has put the speedo out that far its not funny. 3.27 to 3.45. the speed shouldnt be that different i wouldnt think

A mate of mine muttered something about being able to cook a rev limiter by hitting it enough. He drives like a d**k, and is probley full of s**t.
Any one any info on cooking a limiter? or a good crab soup?

maybe with a blowtorch...

it's an ecu function that cuts fuel when you get to a certain amount of revs.... you could cut the tacho signal to the ecu..... but then it wouldn't know what fuel etc to put in and would either stop the car (turn off the fuel pump because the tacho is below x no. of RPM) or destroy your motor....

In all honesty (and don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go  ) why would you want to spend time and cash on gettin rid of the limiter?
Unless you have a massively powered car that you want to pull kick a** quarters with (11 - 10 seconds), then you're not really gunna hit 180+ anyway...

well if its interfering with a dyno run, then its obviously a problem. just say (i know it wouldnt be) youv an aftermaket computer, and there trying to tune it on the dyno but the limiter keeps cutting it off.

or yu have a bet with mates on how much power you have, and you lose by a couple of KW's just coz of that damn limiter.

way to lose $20 bucks lol.

im not trying to get rid of the limiter. it was just a quick statement that i thought i would post. I thought it would be interesting to see if any other people had same experiences. There is no way i would drive past 180 anywhere anyways

Best thing you could do to auto Falcon mate :)

As for your car rolling to 210. Hmmmm. Dunno. Maybe it has an XR ECU? Maybe it's just a freak?

I know that auto utes have a limiter, but the auto sedans don't (AU series, that I know of). Someone correct me if I'm wrong (or ellaborate).

Is it just me or has every1 not really read what he wrote, he said he is in a EBII stock computer and it is an auto and he is in 3rd gear hitting 210km/h.
There is something wrong with that story because in my car i have 3rd gear and at 5,000rpm im doing just over 180km/h, i can rev mine 2 about 5,400rpm when it then hits the limiter so there is no way you could hit 210 in 3rd gear!!!

Did any1 else not pick this up???

Cheers
Griffo
