i dunno ... original query was re performance ... so the performance differance is via the ECU then??

i dunno ... original query was re performance ... so the performance differance is via the ECU then??

The BA XR6 is a bodykit, trim and diff gears. It's exactly the same as an XT. There is no performance difference.

Not true about performance, they DO have different settings for the ECU. Not much but there is a slight difference. I had asked that same question 10 years ago. :D

I bought one AFTER I reseached and knew full well which engine was in it. If you bought a car not knowing what was powering it you should feel pretty silly, not ripped off

if there was any thing different in the ecu it would only be in trans shift points or something like that, otherwise they would have been listed as a different power figure from factory...

no i wouldn't feel silly! ... i would be p****d as :evil: coz ta me the base model is the XT with the XR6 the 'sports' model meaning the XR has more getup n go than the base model XT

out of the ba xr6 and xt's I have driven, the xt felt faster...lol
its just a sportier look with no real performance gains...
you want a xr6 with performance, but the turbo...

i put a xr6 ecu on my Xt, as mine was limmited to 180k, this one it goes of the clock, also the rev limmiter seems to be different, the xt just holds at around 6 the xr6 one lets it go to about 6200 but did not notice any power gains at all
