i am currently working on a 92 EB i am having trouble getting my head around a problem with the car, in the mornings when the car is first started it blows HUGE clouds of oil smoke and to look at it you would think that every oil ring in the motor was shot but after a 10 minute run in a 100kph zone it clears and runs a grey pipe, any idea's ??

sounds like valve stem seals...fairly common problem in older engines....

when the car is left overnight oil passes by them and into the chamber causing smoke on startup as the problem gets worse you will find at higher revs or hard acceleration it will also do this although nowhere near as noticeable thanks to the speed you are travelling

Check that the stopper on your dip stick hasn't ridden up.

If it has then reset it and recheck oil level.

Or if you have a helpful child like mine check that they haven't emptied the rest of your oil battle into the engine.

Grumbles

Are you sure it is coming out the exhaust as with the amount of oil smoke you are describing it should leave a black pipe, even after a run.

Have a look under the car, especially around gearbox/tailshaft union.
Could be throwing oil and dripping onto exhaust overnight.

Can you smell burning oil in the car while driving?

How are the other levels, power steering pump, diff

If youve replaced the valve stem seals and it still does it then it's time for a head reco. Guides and valves are badley worn I'm afraid :(
