Yeah they do.. but would you rather slightly better fuel economy and a engine throwing rods out the block at anything more then 3500rpm or a torquey straight six :)

not the vt's. when they came out it got good reviews on economy but everyone i know that owns a vt says they are rubbish on juice. also last time motor or wheels did a test they discovered that the holden trip computer is not very accurate. says you are doing better than you actually are, so if the journo's just go by the trip computer and don't work it out manually then it looks o.k. incidently they tested the ford trip computer and it was the opposite. actually doing better than what it said.

I had my AU2 Fairmont trip display come up with 999 and I drove another 50 kms before it started counting down again.

most i've seen on tripmeter is 680 kilometres.. actually covered about that much in the EL fairmont (from melbourne to halfway between goulbourn and Sydney) on the way up to sydney in 40+ degree temperatures + 4 passengers + full luggage. Hot weather seems to improve fuel consumption for some reason.
