A few days back I read a thread you wrote saying you have a hack (for the want of a better word) for BA engines, to trick the BEM/ CAN BUS and thus transplant them into earlier models legally; without resorting to aftermarket ECU's ( IIRC; the price was $995). Music to my ears I thought ( tried searching for it but couldnt find the thread); as I was planning a project to put a 1jz gte into an XF; but would now like to run a Barra 240T, larger injectors and re-flash to 9psi.
Would the electronic throttle be an issue here? ( i.e. would I need a BA pedal box) and what additional parts would be required? The plan would be to use a T5 with XF bellhousing and upgraded clutch; so I dont have to alter the tailshaft and keep it fairly cheap.
Would their be much invovled in getting the power steering and A/C to work? (If so I will reluctantly forgo these).
I was stunned when I found that thread and it relegated such a transplant from the too hard basket (with many glass-half empty folk on other forums saying it would cost up to $30k to do). to a relatively inexpensive job.

Summarising:
How would I go about obtaining the $995 chip mod?
would an XF spec T5 (or other) be strong enough?
Can I run accessories off the DOHC motor?

there are plenty of threads about making the engine fit into different cars so have a search for them
as far as the wiring & box goes speak to capa in south oz they do them and i believe they were going to make looms aswell

If you did do this, and you do get the power you're hoping to get... I don't like your chances of a T5 holding upto it.
Horse power is cheap, strength and reliability are costly.

what would u recommend in that dept.?

or a Toyota supra 5 speed. they already have bell housing for the XF to suit them. but for BA, see your local transmission conversion specialist. there's one in Yennora, I think they're call Fairfield transmission service. they specialise in any tran conversion, they maybe be able to source a bell housing to fit the stronger supra. but not sure if they're still around, dealt with them some years back.
