Am i the only one that didnt know an AU xr6 comes with the std forte air intake? You dont get the tickford job. The tickford snorkel is much larger. Gee im glad i bought a forte and didnt get charged tickford dollars for a car with just a few tickford parts.

What the! Never heard of that before. I bought the AUII XR6 brand new in 2000. It came with the lot, all Tickford, not forte!

Whats the deal, anyone shed some more light on this?

He's actually right. The snorkle on all the AU XR6's was identical to the Forte's. Only the AU XR8's got the larger Tickfortd badged intake.
Its one of the first, most common and cheapest mods most of us do. But the fact remains that all the AU XR6's rolled off the factory line with the std I6 snorkle.

Then it was a dealer fit. All the AU XR6's came with the std Forte intake.

Well thank the heavens. I was unaware of that. I suppose I should be glad it came with the lot, mind you, I paid $49,000 for the old girl.

So how much do the XR8 ones cost? And do they really make much of a difference?

$30-40 for a (AUII/III) XR8/(BA) XR6T one. Yes they do make a difference, it allows the engine to breathe better, it improves throttle response.

For 30 bucks you can't go wrong mate.

That was not what i was upset about. Stroker said he was glad of not paying extra money for an XR because it had a piece of plastic on it from a forte????

Obviously not an XR fan.
What about all the rest of the gear? that was very upsetting the an XR owner about his pride and joy hehehe :)
