mums au falcon has just started leaking coolant badly at the rear of the engine almost where the engine and gearbox meet.
is it a seal gone or something else? cheers

thats rear main seal isnt it? or welsh plug?

very rare on an AU to pop a rear welsh plug, but.....
I'd be checking the heater pipe (runs from the water pump to underneath the inlet manifold) Otherwise If you can't 'sight' the leak and it is defiantly where you say it is, then its a gearbox out and you need to replace the rear welsh plug (located just below the head and behind the ring gear.)

sounds like the rear welch plug?? if so its a gearbox,torque converter and flywheel/ring gear removal job...to get to the welch plug..
is it coming from in between the engine and gearbox or running down from the top?? |

yeah rear welsh plug may sound right, it looks like its coming from down low. havnt really had a good look at it yet though. thanks for your help
