Hi guys,
Ive finally gotten around to replacing the drive belt on my VCT engined AU and thought I'd share a little tip to make the job easier.
You may have tried to budge the automatic tensioner on the belt with a 3/8" drive and realised how much pressure is needed to hold this in position while removing/fitting the belt.
From my experience is it much easier to just turn the power steering pump pulley clockwise with your hand and this will slacken off the tensioner with surprisingly little effort.
Hope this helps someone out

Cheers

Phil

There is a little hole for a drill bit or anything else that will fit in the tentioner that holds it in a released position..

Or you can pull the radiator out (piece of piss) and have a much easier time doing it.
