The AU alternator has a 3pin connector and the EL one is different and just 2 pins.

What's the best way to get around this?

I did that to my ef mate.

Unfortunately Had to get an AU altenator .
Should be able to pick ont up for 80 - 200$ pending where you look.

Thanks ddoth but I have the AU altenator already and the ELECTRICAL connectors are different - were your the same?

Go to wreckers and get AU connectors & wire to alternator.. Solder and heatsink ... Done!!!

As I understand it the 3 altenator pins are LSB with the S being unused and that the L and B match the 2 on the EL 2 pin connector. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

one could be an earth the other two are positive and negative
