Coil packs on AU are a problem also they like to blow inlet gaskets. But it sounds like a coil pack problem.

only on series 1 au, as they used the same packs as EF which were unshielded.

Au2 and 3 coilpacks are generally harder to kill. OP says that CP has been checked and replaced.

Id expect any car to stall if I removed 4 of its 6 plugs. especially when it fires in groups 1&6, 2&5, 3&4.

Can you tell us what modifications it has, if any? Have you recently installed aftermarket extractors (headers)? Work from the last known point of change when the problem started. Extractors can cause overfueling, due to the larger cross sectional area where the HEGO picks up, results in a lower PPM reading than it actually is causing the ECU to pump extra fuel in.

Im not seeing crank angle sensor on the list of checked items.

Is it auto? Stalling could be a problem with the auto, unrelated to the overfueling. How long since its had a service? whats the trans fluid levels like?

just been serviced(plugs, filter, oil, fuel filter and leads

car is standard

chaecked injectors and they are firing fine
removed plug on isc, tps, and map sensor(under throttle body) on all occasions the car idled up so i assume that the sensors are working

sprayed carby cleaner around intet gasket on all runners and there does not seem to be a leak

dont think its head gasket as it happened suddenly

i did replace lifters about a month ago but car ran good for 2 weeks(but a little fuelly)

Sux to replace a few hundred dollars worth of stuff only to find it was 50c part causing high fuel pressure.

i think every should take this thread as example of why you dont just throw a bunch of parts at a problem and hope it goes away.

Id be wary of any ford dealership, and what they add. After my experience with a certain ford dealership here in vic, I try an avoid them like the plague.

They tried to tell me my autolite 985's were causing interference in my electical curcuits, causing my rev gauage to not work, and that i needed their set at $160. A quick phonecall to JMM to bust this myth, and they were asked kindly to remove the platinums they had put in without consulting me, and were going to charge me for.

This is what happened to our AU2. it turned out to be the manifold gasket as we took it to the mechanic and he put it on the computer and also the map sensor is on its way out on which we are about to replace. Hope this helps.
