HI taking the head of my EF Falcon tommorow due to leaking head gasket problem around number 5 Cylinder Exhaust side.

In regard to the MLS AU Head gasket that is sometimes used for the EF Motor.

Has anyone used any other brand of MLS Gasket as l was looking around the other day at what is available in the MLS gasket range and l found that AA Gaskets sell one for the AU motors.

Also they make Graphite type gaskets for the EF motor and l think some engine reco shop sell them when doing a head gasket job.
Has anyone tryed the Graphite type gaskets???

Stick to the multi layer steel gasket from ford.

unless you require o-ringing go with whats proven and reliable.

Hi all Just started the head gasket replacement as much as l can see it looks like the head on this motor has never been removed after doing 200,000 Klm's on the clock.
Will be taking head to a Recoditioner to check the condition as this car has run on LPG for over 10years.
Can try and upload some photo's not sure how?

Would be interesting to know what the valve recession is like, and whether the car had one of those drip-lube things??

on my EL I had over 300k klms when I pulled the head, and there was no signs of recession.

I load my photo's on photobucket.com
You can then link to them in the posts - no dramas.
There are a few posts on this forum explaining the process, easy to find.
