Converting an EF isnt as easy as an EB though

Yeah, your right with regard to the sump/k-frame mods.

However since EF's already have coil pack & BBM etc, that makes things a bit more plug n play.
I had to get a few different hoses and stuff, and I was lucky because I already had an EF/EL radiator and thermos, and the BBM - if I had to do all that at the time it would have been a bit more expensive.

yeh you can spend the money better else where to begin with...just depends if you wanna mod heavier later on...where then the stronger AU bottom end is a must well almost...still better to have it and really cash wise it aint to painful.

Just wondering can the sump be cut and shut instead of the crossmember?

Or is there internals that will interfear?

Yes there is another member that has done just that, I did not even concider it when I did mine as the K frame is much easier to do.
