Hi guys I have a few Q about my AU and if any one can help me out that would be good.....

What type of ignition system does your car run- where is the crank angle sensor (CAS) or distributor trigger wheel and what type is it (Optical/LED Sensor? Hall Sensor? VR Sensor?)

How many teeth/windows/slots and what orientation does the CAS, crank trigger, and/or distributor wheel have? (any missing? all evenly spaced?)

Does this engine have a fast idle valve (IAC)? If so, how many wires are connected to it? Do you know if it is an on/off, pulse width modulated, thermal, or stepper type?

CAS. The wheel is mounted behind the balancer and the sensor is just above.

VR sensor

Its a 36-1 tooth wheel. Like 36 teeth with 1 cut off so 35 teeth and 1 gap the same size. All evenly spaced.

It has an IAC above the throttle body. Its pulse width modulated I think. 2 wires.

What ECU are you fitting?

EMS, Haltech, Microtech.
V500 is toward the upper end of the price range but it's got alot of features.
Whether you are going to use them or not, I dunno, you'll have to weigh that up.
I've got one in my car and I'm happy with it, but mostly it comes down to whos tuning it.

sorry, V500.
Megasquirt is the go if you are happy to DIY everything.
i reckon you'll be hardpressed to find someone willing to tune it.

If its an au could you just flash tune the ecu, should get you what you need. Or is that not going to do what you need?

well i have a S1 AU and have been told that the flash tuner will only do some things with the AU's like changing tyer size to keep ur speedo right. may be and i mean may be change the shift points to make it change harder. so really the flash tuner is s**t for the AU's unless you have a S3.....

Take into account that you mite not need all the features that the V500 has,So no point buying something worth that much and your not going to need most of the stuff its capable of..
