Can you fit older style V belt accessories onto an AU block/front cover? Only reason I ask is I cannot find an XH tensioner to go multi rib belt and would like to fit the later engine.

Thanks

You can get the tensioner from repco. I used to know the part number but have forgotton. Its made by dayco I think.

Its around $200 with a belt from memory.

Its definately possible to put the older accessories on but there is a fair bit of grinding involved to make everything fit. Im not sure if there is a write up about it somewhere or not. If you look under sphell on fordforums.com.au he has done it.

Sweet thanks for the replies...I will call Repco tomorrow and see if I can get the tensioner as I would prefer to change it over while I am doing an engine swap.
