Did my AUII's first oil change and whilst i havnt had a chance to grab myself a workshop manual, i did trawl the forums and came up with 5.5 litres inc oil filter for 6cyl's

Well, i warmed the car up, drained the oil for about 40mins, then topped it up and its right on the Full mark, but it only took 4.8 litres :|

The car is on level ground, have given it plenty time to settle, engine is warm..... yes i know oil expands with heat, but it shouldnt expand by that much?

Im not too concerned as my EF always took just under 5 litres, but im wondering why does everyone say 5.5 litres when its not anywhere near that

we've had the ea for 7 years and never have i ever put the recommended amount of oil in it, always less.

our pajero is suppose to take 6 litres of oil, it never has , even with a new filter.

I did mine the other day in an eb2 4L, guy at autobarn said 'hmm it says here it should take 6L but my falcon only ever needed around 5'

Mine took about 4.7L and is like 2mm below full on the dipstick after 2 days of driving, I let it drain for over an hour too so most of the old stuff should have been gone

Works well cos now I have 300mL spare for topping it up if need be

well, im a f**k idiot

i just remembered that i emptied the remaining contents from a spare bottle in first so i had somewhere to put the dirty oil :|

so the final figure couldve been 5L or 5.2L...... i dont have a f**k clue. I guess in 6 months when i do the next oil change i will know for sure
