Hey all,

Just wondering if an AU XR6 VCT engine would work in a EF. (I know that the k-frame needs to be modified).

Would the ecu need to be changed and the wiring loom???

Cheers in advance

Been done a few time. Ive done it, and twason has also done it.

Fits in fine. If you have the Bonnet insulator it may get a little rubbing on the VCT solenoid but no metal on metal.

You can run the EF XR Ecu, and switch the VCT using the BBM Signal.

It will actually work on a standard ECU, but becomes a little "lumpy"

Cheers

Nigel

Ah - thats different.
Use AU1 VCT ECU pre smartlock. Add additional wire for BBM. make sure that you rewire temp, IAT sensor to right place. Trans should be ok.

Seee what happens.
