Allo lads,

Just got myself a Tickford Snorkel and I'm kinda worried how the throat of the thing is right up against my radiator. It isn't interfering with the fans, it's just right up against the back of the thing. Is it meant to be such a tight fit? The front of the snorkel barely makes it to the area where I have to drill new holes, any tips on making this install easier?

Thanks.

you should get the el gt one - straight fit ... doesn't the au one get covered up by the bonnet rubber moulding partly when it is closed, seeing as it sits futher back ????

yeah the AU has to be mounted different so the bonnet rubber dosent foul the airflow, but theres plenty of people on here that have gone with the AU instead of the EL GT, im not to sure on how to mount the AUXR one though, I think it just has to be pushed up a bit then drill new holes.

Okay, so the first hole when really good. Second one I kinda followed through just a pinch. Slightly punctured the plastic strip below, from the looks of things it's a plastic strip, nothing more. It seems to be above the the radiator, am I in the clear, or did I fudge up big time?

Here's a link to a picture of the puncture in question:

I've got the AUXR8 snorkel, its a snug fit but you dont need to drill your car!
I simply drilled a new hold through the plastic of the snorkel in a little more on the left hand side.
Fits well, the fan shroud is tuff enuff to hold it back off the fans ;)

Thanks for replies lads. Here it is installed. I tried closing the bonnet and it seemed to sit good, do I need to cut it or not? Looks like it has been cut, but I'm guessing thats just how it comes from the supplier. Any problem with me not cutting it? And if I have to, any indication of how much I need to cut off?

Gotta love the tickford wings :D

I wondered if the bonnet would close properly too when i first installed mine. All should be fine Till_Lind.

Lol, the guy at Q Ford Springwood always likes to make little comments when you buy parts from there. He said something like "now you got the wings!", and I'm like, "Yep" -false laugh-. :)

Well that's good, lol, but do you think it's sitting far enough to the front so that the bonnet rubber isn't going to get in the way? Or do I need to snip a little off the top?
