hi guys ive replaced ignition lock/ barrel @ keyin my au2 now ign lights come on but engine wont crank iam led to believe the BEM wont read the new ign is there a simple solve or is it off to FORD to get reprogamed

pretty sure it may need to go to ford
being an au2 with the transponder key

definately needs to go to ford. It has a transponder type key system.

and before you whinge about what they'll try and charge you for it, remember your insurance is cheaper for having that system in place

You need to leave the ignition on for 45 minutes. Then go back & start the car.

this is not true for AU1 with smartshield onwards (transponder systems)

thanks for info fellas as i suspected off to ford to spend christ knows how much then on the market ===and go back to old faithful EF something i can work on

AU2 isnt a whole lot different than an EF in terms of what u can/cant do, except for the immoboliser, and its twice the car to drive/own.

its probably about a $95 job
