Am looking at buying 2002 AU3 I6 Auto wagon on factory gas. Done 220,000 kms.
Price $7000.
What pitfalls do I look for?

Richie.

Wholesaler.
Body is straight - good paint - new tyres. Interior needs detail.
Subject to RAC to check Tuesday.
Had auto checked out this morning - no leaks etc - is fine just needs flush.
Hard start cold - i think i could hear a spark when trying to start.
Just has the obligatory engine oil weep between head & timing cover.

Richie.

As a matter of interest - does it take longer to crank & start a LPG car ?
I think you need to create a vacuum on the intake stroke to fill manifold & cylinder with gas. As opposed to petrol where the fuel is injected directly?

A lot of gas cars need a few cranks before they fire, especially with the older systems. Might be an idea to check the gas tank has current tags on it.

Is there a particular engine oil you need to use for these things?
Is there someone in Perth who is good for service on these?

Richie.
