Hi. Does anyone know if this after market intake snorkel really does make any difference? On their website (http://www.aunger.com.au) they list our a bunch of benefits. From the picture it doesn't look any different from the standard system.

More fresh air in the better, but there is only so much air needed i suppose, i looked at these and the SS inductions ones but was a cheap-skate and bought a nice big AU "wide mouth" one off ebay for $45 delivered, seems good to me add your K&N filter for$70 and your sweet!

Thanks. No problem to fit the AU one you got to an EL?

The Aunger one is much much bigger than any of the stocko Ford ones. Although I noticed no difference when I fitted it to my ride (prior to the blower). The quality of it is pretty cruddy - it's thin plastic which is disappointing considering it's high price. You'll also have to cut up the opening to your air filter box larger to accommodate it.

Has anyone cut and spliced two std snorkels together to make one big snorkel?

I got an SS inductions big mouth snorkle kit and they arnt worth the money, you will probly pick up 2-3rwkw on the dyno but you will barly feel it.

I bought a BA V8 snorkel off FTG Auto Salvage (forum sponsors) and then trimmed some plastic off the top lip to open it up further. Even before modding it I noticed better throttle response and it only cost $40 + post.

thats because the snorkle itself is not much of a restriction.

if your engine was making 150rwkw on a stock snorkle with a modified EF box lid and 3inch pipe and then you changed it, you'd notice a bigger improvement

Has anyone done a dyno run with the bonnett up with and without snorkel? When i ran without the snorkel the motor just seemed to have huge lungs, it really kicked in when the bbm switched.

That's very helpful. Exactly what I wanted to know. I have some better direction on this now.

Your best bet would to go for a XR6T snorkle, cheap and its twice the size. I got one for $33.

Does it bolt on to the EL bay (6 cylinder) straight?
