Hi, i just need to know if the BA XR6T Engine's + gearbox(auto or man) will fit into an XE Falcon. Will the mountings line up with the engine, and the gearbox, or is their modifications required?

Help is much appreciated!

Fit......yes.

Run.....no.

The expense involved in getting the thing to actually run would be more than the cost of the car itself.

eb-au 4l with a turbo. The ba conversion is possibe but very very expensive motor and gearbox your looking around $6000+ then youll need either a stand alone ecu (which prob wont run a ba auto) or trick the ba ecu into running without smartlock then trasnfer a ba engine and dash harness into the xe, for the same money you could prob have a 351 with a 6/71 on top

why not use the standard XE 250ci??? plenty of people sell kits for the XE 6 motors.

the again, like bogan393 said....why dont you slap in a 351???

there is a 9 second turbo 250 xflow setup on ebay for sale. I have seen this car run, and it is damn fast.. and at only $1600 it will be by far a cheaper setup.

Good luck.

Well its not so much the money but the modifying, like the dash cluster. I would prefer to keep it mostly original. But how much is involved in putting an au engine in with a turbo, possisbly twin? Money wise and work wise.

Just incase anyone is interested you can pick up a bargain BA motor if you dont want to run power steering perfect for X series falcons or cortina's we got one with under 5000k's for $750 the only problem was the power steering pump mount had been broken of the front cover and the sump has a very small crack in it but for a practically brand new engine it is a damn good price.

cheers Mic

I do like the 351's dont get me wrong. My dad has and XD ESP worked 351 but fuel prices are going up so i decided to go with turbo'd 6. So if someone could help me out with an engine combo, like an au, that would be great!

I would have whacked a turbo on the x-flow but i have heard that the carbi engines aren't so great with turbo's. About the stroke etc.

And one more question. I can never get a straight answer. For a turbo'd 6 (even twin) which is better auto, or manual?

What about the injected x flows? theres heaps of them turbod putting out big figures. Au engine are also a good choice but im not sure whats invloved in putting them in. Gearbox wise comes down to what you want to do with it really, for drag racing you would probably be best with a good auto, high stalled, shift kitted etc, but if your into track work then your probably better off with a manual. thats my opinion anyway.
