I'm not entirely sure if it comes down to climate or not, or humidity.

I've got a 2003 BA XT.
Some days it goes hard, and I've timed it on a straight road at 7.3 seconds 0 -100 km/h
(The best time the car has done so far)

Other days it doesn't like to go as hard, I've timed 9 - 12 seconds on some days 0 -100. (same road)
(Varies greatly)
- Timed it on Petrol -not gas)
It's duel fuel with a Impco system,

Does this happen to anyone else? and what could it be?

Wear and tear? Climate (humidity)? could there be a problem with the car?

any advise, or clarification would be good :D

Your car is Duel Fuel?

There are many things I've noticed that may actually be factors... when it rains my car just wants to GO GO GO, when it's warm, not so much.

That part purely comes down to air density. I think you would see much more consistant results with gas injection, mixer rings are somewhat known to cause significant restriction, and air density changes show up alot more.

Gas injection removed the mixer ring from the intake all together, as I mentioned above, yeild a more consistant result.

Not that I am any expert on Gas, but I've had some exposure to it and the effects both positive and detrimental.

So basically you're saying that the car is probably more unstable, and reacts to air density stronger.

Without the Mixer Rings, can't that cause some damage? I'm not entirely sure how the Impco system installed works, but it'll be Gas Injection ?

but when my car wants to go, it goes great, but not for very long. I can turn it off, go shop, come back and it's being s**t (You can tell how it's going to perform with how it idles and revs, good days it sounds deep, open, roars great, others it has less open sound, sounds crap.

it's the one thing I've not been able to figure out so far.

Hey man. Mine just started doing this also. Mines petrol though. Currently trying to diagnose the problem. Starting with oxy sensor, then coils.

without knowing what impco systems is installed, your search for advice may stall. At least until you get a shot under the bonnet to show exactly what it is.

Yeah, my car does it on both the systems. Gas and Petrol. (Much more noticeable on Gas)

It probably might be the oxygen sensor, only because it sounds right, (somehow)

where is this sensor? and if you check and correct dude, tell me if it changed anything

(does yours accelerate great one day, crappy the next? and sounds pissy whines away, or grunty?)

Mine only just started the other day. The car revved out in first gear without changing, because it's retarded. Since then I've had intermittent sluggishness through the entire rev range, and the car just sounds horrible. I'll get a video of it when it's playing up for you, and post it here. Quite hard to explain really. But to check your O2 sensor, being a BA you only have one, and that's just before the cat converter. Simply get under the car, find the sensor (will be the only wired item going into your exhaust before the cat), unplug the cable, then unscrew the sensor out. I'm replacing mine completely, rather than just cleaning and putting back in. They cost $111 from repco, direct replacement 4 wire clip.

Sometimes the car sounds amazing, deep and beautiful, it goes well, the rev/gear timing seems to be perfect.

Other days, it is sluggish, sounds whiny, and it's reluctant to change gears hahahaha. like today, it was s**t. (22nd)

I'll have to get under and have a look, see if I can't clean it out...

Well the oxy sensor seems to of done the trick for me. Hope you find what's causing yours to play up man.

It's 40,000 overdue for a service, so it'll be booked in this week hahahaaha it might fix it... I just checked when it was to be serviced.

I'll try and find this sensor and clean it.
