Take back to Ford & get the BF ECU tune. Might help

firstly, you cant, BF has a different ecu with different wires going into it (even has 3 plugs vs 2 on a BA I6...

also, traction control was an option on BA XT's. Its standard on all BF Petrol Sedans...

Our ED does 0-60 is 3 seconds. All it has that I can tell is a 2.5" zorst.

And from what I can tell from our experiences with the BAII we used (hire car hehe), they are s**t down low. We found a nice hill with a corner in Bellingen, stopped, and then floored it round, not even a peep from the tires. Not sure if that is an indicator, but I reckon if we did that in the ED there'd be a bit of action.

Maybe because the BA doesn't run smaller narrower crappy tyres and an ancient rear suspension setup :)

For starters i aint talking about an entire ECU. My local ford dealer took one of my work mates car into to get the BF flash tune done and since noticed better fuel econemy and better throttle response. Try ringing your local ford dealer.....

hey i got a 2002 BA XT falcon and was recently shocked when a stock standard ED falcon managed to pull away from me at the lights. Of cause i got him but there was very little power in the car till at least 3000rpm. At the moment the only mods are a 2 1/2inch sports exhaust from the cat back (which helped a little).

Any one got any ideas

Whats your reaction time like mate???. lol :D

reaction times not too bad i was about a second behind cause he wen't a second earlier than he was supposed to. however i must say in the ba's defence the ED i was draging had extractors and a full 2.5 inch exhaust where as my ba's only got from the cat back 2.5inch

THere are heaps of reasons..

Car is too heavy
Car has a crap diff ratio
Car is tuned for high revs.

Aside from that, I hear a rumor that there is built in torque restriction that can be alleviated with an edit, or by resetting the ECU.

Worth a shot, the story is to disconnect your battery for 12 hours or more.

I have tried it, but I have a flash tune which I believe gets rid of it anyway.

Usually the BAs are worst after you have been giving it some curry for a while.

ANyway, try the reset and see.

BTW, my car now has 220rwhp and it STILL feels crap off the mark :-(

The EF was always nicer across the lights.

Mine does about 6 seconds to 100, without cams and shorter gearing. It doesnt cost that much to get performance out of these cars.

pox about the diff ratios. theyre the 308 same as the ef.
what fuel you run in these cars does make a fair difference to how they run however.

6 seconds!!! That's very impressive!!!

What has the XT got done to it to pull those sorts of times?

Also, how did measure 6 seconds? G-tech?

Heres a video,

That was on a dodgy bumpy road, would be better on the strip. Got cams still to go in, then maybe a 4.11 LSD...
