that tube is only a support bar its not really structual...

did you grind the ribs off? i dont really want to damage the sump (not that grinding fins off is damage)...

But thats probably what i'd do, even if i have to grind the ribs off.

no i didnt want to grind the ribs off..
thats why i cut and bent that square tube..
i know its possable to fit a au engine into eb by just grinding the sump..
but the ba needs a bit more clearence...

Don't know if it will help at all, but this is the side on view of the front of the sump on a BA six. The bump closest to the balancer has the oil pump behind it.
