I don't think you understand that the jokes from my fellow members, actually are based on fact.

Yes you can bolt in an engine from a BA in to an EA. However, there is NO cheap solution yet available to get it running.

None of the low end readily available aftermarket ECUs are capable of running the twin variable camshafts of the BA engine correctly.

The one car on this forum that is running the BA engine is using the BA computer and his car spent months in a reputable workshop and thousands of dollars getting to that stage. He is still finishing the car.

If it were as simple as you would like it to be, many of the members, including myself would have done this already.

My suggestion, would be to use the proven method of using either and EF, EL or AU low Kay engine. There is a sticky at the top of this forum with info regarding that.

If you are serious about progressing down this realistic and achievable path, let us know, and we will do what we can to help you.

BenJ

in all seriousness...
don't listen to these guys glenn.
where theres a will theres a way
just because it took some workshop $7k and months to complete, and other workshops never properly completed it.

thats not to say you can't do it cheaply.
pioneering FTW :D

Me or the workshop? :P

In all seriousness if someone gave me a BA motor I would have it driving around in my EF in 2 weekends.

I have been tempted to try it again but I cbf with bonnet clearance issues and I just called atomic and their cam gears still arent ready.

People think its hard because 1 crap workshop couldnt do their job and others are scared to attempt something on their own that might not work out.

There are quite a few BA conversions getting around, its just that they arent mentioned on the net so people dont know that it can be done yet.

They're STILL not ready!? Man, lucky i wasn't relying on them lol.

Oh and a BA engine conversion, mechanically easy as pie, electronically and absolute nightmare, but not impossible....
