hi

just some information on AU and BA turbo 6 cylinder engine pistons


details .................... AU ENGINE ........................... BA Turbo Engine

part number ............ 6MKRY4002 .......................... 6MKRY9710
Bore Size ................ 92.3 mm................................. 92.3 mm
stroke ..................... 99.3 mm................................. 99.3 mm
compression hieght .. 30.8 mm ............................... 30.8 mm
gugeon pin size ........ 23.18 mm ............................. 22.00 mm
gugeon pin fit ........... press fit ................................ full floating
oversizes ................. std 0.5 1.00 mm .................... std 0.5 mm only
rings..........................................................................................
1st ring ..................... 1.2 mm thick ........................ 1.2 mm
2nd ring .................... 1.5 mm ................................ 1.5 mm
oil ring pack .............. 3 mm ................................... 2.5 mm


prices from repco AU falcon is $ 310 ( ACL )
prices from repco for the BA turbo $ 1265 (ACL )

i was informed that the BA part number prefix( 6MKRY ) denotes with rings supplied and the suffix number indicates forged piston ( 9710 )

also been informed that the top ring on the BA is chromolly and cast 2nd ring

and remember the BA` has 4 valves per cylinder and the AU has 2 valves per cylinder didnt have detaisl on the pattern on the top of the piston

still trying to find out if they share the same bigend bearing pin diameters

Judging from the information thats is here the rod lengths are the same

What do suitable forged pistons for the AU cost in comparison?

not sure at this stage

am pricing JE's and probe forced inductions pistons as we speak
will fill you once i have the quotation

also price Aftermarket steel controds also will keep you posted

once again if anyone is serious about buying some serious hardcore components let me know AGAIN A GROUP BUY will make a huge savings
