First of all this will sound stupid.
My xr6 used to rev to about 3000 then feel like it suddenly hit boost my mates exact same year car does it and still hits the 3k and flys. He does have a different exhaust mine is a pacemaker headers hi-flow cat to redback catback, his is a lukey headers, lukey non hi-flow cat and lukey cat back. Does anyone have any ideas why mine has lost this sudden power? car drives fine any other time. any information at all will help. Cheers Corey |

Maybe your turbo got stolen.

Could be a number of things. Bad fuel , plugs and coils may be getting weak , dirty air and fuel filter. Engine could be gettin the kays high and losing a bit of balls.

mums xr6 was the same a little while back did exactally as you say 3krpm then take off like a cut cat then it just died in the a*** turns out one of the coils was shot. but only noticed the difference in the higher revs.

Have replaced the coils and plugs not long ago maybe 15000 and have done the air and fuel filter 2000 Kms ago... Does anyone know how to check te coils with a multimeter
|

not sure ive never tested them b4 but i do know they dont like any kind of moisture getting to them

yes i remember hearing that about a guy cleaning his engine and ruining his coils... ok ill resistance test them and see what happens i suppose ahah
