cant drive a v8 :( ,p plater.
p.s. fun fact, ford (fpv) are selling the new FG supercharged coyote with a pod filter style intake, and by selling i mean base option, their reasoning is to get the induction note like the old v8's, it will be interesting to hear

once the bonnet shuts its boxed and seperated from the engine bay, its just a box with an integrated snorkel...
it is a better setup i agree, but its still seperated from the engine bay, very different to just sticking a pod on the end of your intake pipe withuot an air box

yar never said it wasn't enclosed, only prob is, if a cop opens up your bonnet n thinks it doesnt seal up then it may cause some slight issues, but im loving the intake set up on it, its gonna be hard for an aftermarket company to modify it to a better set up, only thing better i can think of would be to air ram it,
by the way, does anyone know how to make a quick and cheap pod box, because mine is sitting in the engine bay sucking in all the hot engine air, and looking very illegal :? . the note of the pod is sick once the car revs to 3800 at WOT, however as expected its no where near the loudness of a cat-back system. for now its good ive just gotta get the box for the pod, and hopefully in the near future ill have money to upgrade to a full exhaust system.

a pod will easily fit in the BA Box, cut the entire front face and passenger side out of the lower half of the box.... thats how i had mine running before i changed all the pipe work

i was thinking about that, um will i still get the pod intake sound or will it be muffled by the box??, and how do you mount the pod, is in where do you clamp the opening of the pod to, ive got some 76mm pvc piping will that work?

you will need a 3" 45deg alloy bend, feed it through the neck of the air box and hose clamp it to the flexi hose, then pod at the other end...

the more you cut out of the box, the less you will muffle the noise...

as i said cut the entre front face and passenger side out, the engine side of the box should be left in to shield engine heat

If you are going to do it properly and want any benefit, make sure you think about how to keep the temps down. ie using heat wrap or the like.
A pod filter WILL NOT roar. Ever.
I have one on mine and all it does is make the throttle body sucking sound louder. No roar. Although i do get a deep groan from my exhaust with the pod.
