ok ive got a ba mk2 xr6 with a k&n filter, typhoon lower and upper snorkels, and all tho it is louder then normal i want a growl, i also dont want to waste my money on mega expensive mounded plastic *cough SS induction cough cough* im looking for a set up that roars and most likely involves placing a pod filter where the airbox is and creating a shrouding around it to prevent hot air being sucked up, now does any know a set up that is cheap and im talking 150 bucks MAX for the whole thing, or even better does anyone know a DIY task i can do that will save some $$'s and still make the car roar.

basically a lowdown, i want:
cheap induction roar that i can build myself or buy for around 150 bucks
cant draw in hot engine bay air

yes i would also like to have the awsome induction roar on my el, theres not many topics on it just all cai and s**t, i love it when our bf xr8 just builds up revs then hits 3500 and comes alive with an all mighty deep growl if i can get even close to this i would be happy, winman you could try the holes in the left hand/passenger side of the air box, see speed holes thread i did it and picke up more response and ever so slighty more noise but deffently not a growl lol

hahaha good luck getting a roar out of an intake
how many intakes on the road have you actually heard roar? none, your hearing the exhaust my friend, unless its a turbo spooling up, but thats not a roar either!

just put a cat back on it, after that you wont even hear the intake!

or if your sticking to your $150 budget replace your muff with a hotdog

induction sounds are good cause at cruising speed their is zero drone, putting a catback system on your likely to get the annoying drone

at cruising speed there is no induction sound! cos its almost at idle speed!
your never going to hear the sound your after.

go for a drive with the entire intake system off from the throttle body, thats as loud as your going to get. you will be dissapointed...

what set up did you use for the pod filter, i want to have mine hidden away in a cover like a box. and Fast-xr, it is possible to get a roar out of a intake, my last car Subaru liberty 2.2 NA, had a pod filter set up and it combated most cat-back systems at WOT, however thats a boxer engine so im not expecting the falcon 6i to be as loud as that

as i said last car, it was sold with the pod filter attachment. but it is true put a pod filter on a car, and at WOT she makes noise, ss induction growler kit for falcons, talk to anyone that has had one and ask them what their induction note was

reckon the zoo will let me borrow their lion????, ill sticky tape a microphone to it aswell :? heheheh,
i know the intake wont be as loud as a cat-back system, but using a pod filter does defiantly increase the induction note noticeably, the way manufactures quite down the intake is to introduce turbulence and a air box with thick rigid walls, removing of the air box and piping that creates turbulence increases the induction noise, i noticed an increase in induction note when i upgraded the standard intake system from stock to, typhoon set up with a K&N panel filter. when i say engine roar i dont mean that you can here the car from a km away, however on my old liberty due to the boxer engine that one did roar and only had standard exhaust and pod
