now the ba xr6 is auto and the au xr8 is manual.

hypothetically speaking if you owned the ba and had the oppurtnity to swap for the manual xr8 wid similar ks (just ova 100 000km), would u do it?

whereas a au3 manual xr8 should already have you running around a 14.5 or 14.6. bit of work should see you down to a flat 14. NA ba6 will take a bit of work to get to a flat 14.

There were 2 versions of the AU xr8 1 was 220kw and 1 was 250kw according to my local dealership.
Could have been S1 and S3 difference.

i hadnt heard of a 250kw xr8. i thought they were only the pursuits?

Not 100% but i KNow for sure there was diff in there intake snorkel, I bought the 250kw version coz it was a fair bit larger.

Series 1 - 185kW
Early Series 2 - 200kW
Lates Series 2/Series 3 - 220kW
Pursuit - 5.6L 250kW stroker

The au ute is both lighter than the BA and has more power, with plenty of tuning potential and will competently run a 13 without too much dollars.

Au utes didnt get the 220 kw even in series 3 trim.

In the utes l think it was only minor changes like clear side lights, some nobs on the dash layout and the front grill. Maybe the rims but i think they were from series1.
