Hi All,
If i was to get a written off BA XR6T-How hard would it be to adapt motor to my 4 speed BFII wagon? would it be as simple as motor, ecu and loom swapping, brakes, etc, both are 4 speed auto, maybe changing diff ratio? Also in NSW would this easily pass an Engineers certificate if i used all factory spec emissions gear etc? Lastly, would there be any dramas putting a BA motor in a BF? (age wise)
Thanks in advance.

Hey mate I have put a Ba xr6t motor in my Ba wagon it was basically just an engine swap I found it simple as. The only thing I am unsure about is how you would go from BA to BF.

Wouldn't have a clue with emissions mate just run it off your standard ecu just flash tune it, then how would they ever know.

may be wrong but their should be a code stamped on the engine that will be linked to it saying its a BA engine.
check with the RTA (give em a call and if they say its ok make sure you ask for that in writing) but you might have to get a BF engine as you will need to be running 2 O2 sensors in the cat, while the BA only has 1. But if the BA engine will run off a BF ecu and everything works fine, i cant see a problem with it passing.

The BA block as far as I know is the same as a BF block there is nothing saying you haven't just used a BA block and swapped all your BF stuff onto it

i think the block would be fine just u'd have to get a bf turbo engine loom..
theres like a extra knock sensor ( i think its a knock sensor) on the bf looms but the ba block has the spot for it there...

Couldn't see why he could not just use the standard loom out of his car with the standard computer run his own boost control and just flash the standard computer. Job done
