As to the springs, if it is indeed a motor from a BA up to the 9/2005 they are standard 6cyl springs, after that date, they added upgraded springs for the Turbo ONLY, I will take a look at them today and let you know any further info I can find.
As to the yellow marking, this head may have been worked on in it's warranty period and the mechanic may have done that for his benefit? I have not seen one before with those markings.

I will get back to you ok? :)

paint on headbolts looks like marking for angle when they were torqued up.
you can see another dab on the head itself as well.

NFI on valve springs, i don't know if ACL even sell valve springs?

ok that would be good. the motor had only done 50,000Ks then it was rebuilt but never put in a car after that.

Ok, I found out what you need to know. The springs are the standard springs and for Turbo up to 09/2005, the Later Turbo springs have a greyish paint on top. Sorry about the crappy pic of the standard spring but I juggled the phone when I took it

The springs are as you see them, single no inner helper, the V8 springs are inner and outer.
