hi guys i converted my ef fairmont from auto to manuel
ran perfect for like 2 days now when i go to start it it makes a noise
like it has a short and wont start and when i tow start it it does start
but runs rugh as guts and back fires that bad that big long flames
come out the exhaust anyone know whats goin on and how i can fix it

Timings out Badly? Umm have you put an el manual computer in accidently instead of ef? I dont know what effect the wrong computer would have if it even fits the same plug

sounds like timins out badly. its firing when the exhaust port is open.

how would the timing be out i only put a manuel in it and dident touch any thing else i tryed to get a comp out of an el i have for parts but the plugs are different where is that 02 sencer at i will change that

Check that the dizzy hasn't come loose - or that the cap hasn't come unclipped etc.

I bought a secondhand panel van many years ago - it was serviced before I picked it up. It ran fine for a week and then did exactly what you're describing. A guy at work said to look at the dizzy - I poo poo'ed him - couldn't be that it's just been serviced. The freakin dizzy was loose.

yeah i had a look but it doesent have a dizzy when i turn the key on the smart lock starts tiking
so i pulled all the fuses out left it a bit and put them back in turned the kea again and it sounded normal then when i pushed my start button again it just made a small bizzing sound then a small click then nothen

Sorry! - missed the fact you have EF.

It does sound like haywire ignition tho... and Ugh! wierd electrical behaviours - I'm afraid I can't offer anything to help - good luck!
