As i think the head on my EF is rooted i was wondering if it would be an idea to get a set of bare heads and get new valves and springs and stuff put on. Wat would be required and how much would it all cost? Or would it just be alot easier and cheaper to buy a reco head? Its just that i was thinking of putting a cam in very soon so i might aswell get valves and springs to suit a cam. Cheers[/img]

Yeh saw them... Im just tossing up wat to do... I was just thinking to slowly buy parts for a rebuild of the bottom and top end to get some decent power without a turbo. Then in 1 go take the car off the road and rebuild it...

That sounds alright... Would that be to standard? I would want a performance reco. Not urgent thats why i was thinking buy part ova time and get the heads ported and stuff then once all the parts are purchased slap them together... I dont know s**t about this kinda stuff luckily i have mate who is rather handy at heads...

i suggest you get a second hand head from the wreckers and get it sandblasted and inspect and if all good put your rockers and cam etc etc in the recently sandblasted head maybe it will work out cheaper from getting a recod head
