the 100amp is connected to the alternator
so you gotta replace it

once you done that before you start the car get a multi meter and get battery voltages
start the car and get voltages
if voltage is 14V or below while car is running alternator is stuffed

14.5V is a very good condition alternator
14.3V is about average
14.1V is getting pretty stuffed there

and make sure you have no system load while this going eg: no big sound system, headlights etc
and to get accurate alternator reading you should get the postive from the alternator directly then get the negative from the battery

the voltameter in the dash isnt accurate enough

a .3 of a volt could seperate it from working and not working

multimeter can be bought and any cheap store for a few bucks

generally there is a instruction book with them just to get volts or to use a cheap one is very easy and is a very handy tool :)

i have a similar concern about the fuse blow i would also be concerned about the regulator not turning off and overcharging the system
