Just after some recomendations for an engine rebuild kit, so far ive heard lots of good things about the ACL race series rebuild kits, just wondering what else is on the market and is also good.

As after easter the engine is most likely coming out of my car to be rebuilt, yes i have the tools, the hoists the experienced individuals the time etc to do all this, no i'm not dreaming.

why not buy all the item's seperate...then u get what u want in you motor....acl would be fine but if ur gunna run a forced indution setup 1 day down the track i would be looking for sumfin a bit better....forged everything.....plus it depends what the bore's look like when u strip the motor

This car wont be getting forced anytime soon. i can garuntee that, maybe experimental turbo setup but thats it not permanant.
Just want fresh internals, and a tad extra poke out of it. And yes we will be checking everything, a complete strip and rebuild. Check all tolerances etc bore sizes, stroke etc.

I like ACL race series for pistons and bearings and AU MLS for head gasket. They are the parts that do the hard work, for the rest generic brands can be used.

Make sure you get everything machined (or at least measured) before you buy them. Usually its worth getting the machining shop to order the parts in for you while they are at it.

The tafe i go to has the right equipment for the rebuild so no machine shop necessary. just got to decide on a rebuild kit.
