Hey there everyone, I recently just purchased a 2006 BF XR6 ute, its awesome. I have couple questions?

When I rev it up and back off there is a noise from the exhaust side, like a dumping of air noise, only up to like less than 2 grand, Any ideas what that noise would be?
I don't think it would be a exhaust leak or else you would hear going along the road which you don't its only when u back off on the pedal.

And

Do all XR6's have a whining sound in the gearbox when u speed up?

Could be the Catalytic converter? If it were a ting noise it would be more likely heat shield on the Cat?
Also check where the Cat bolts to the rest of the exhaust and the Exhaust manifold, there is a gasket between the two halves of it.

Yea it ain't a turbo, and its not a tinging noise, sounds like the dumping off exhaust gases, but it doesn't do it going down the road, well i can only hear when the windows are down, and u give it a little rev, so I don't think it would be a exhaust leak, might have to pull the heatshield off and have a look.
