apart from painting the existing overflow tank, what else have other people done or seen that looks good.
ive heard about stainless steel replacement tanks but havent seen them, anyone have a pic or know where to get one from? or maybe some sort of polished cover that slips over it? im after some ideas cos id like to have a go at making something myself.

pwr make stainless ones but you cant see the coolant level without removing the radiator cap, but they look dam good

pwr makes them,intune in castle hill sells them and are $300 -$370 from memory plus ef-el have no low coolant sensors where the au does!

Try aluminium. Not stainless. Most of those egg shell ones you can't see the coolant without removing the cap as they go all icky when they get of age. But seriously? How often do you check your coolant? Or how lazy are you that you can't just remove the cap? |

Or how lazy are you that you can't just remove the cap? thanks for pointing out that they are alloy. i check my coolant all the time but ive had a few leaks over the last few months so im a bit paranoid. with some small leaks the engine heat evaporates the coolant and the only way you notice it is cos you can see the coolant has droped slightly below the full mark and with the alloy ones its hard to notice such a small drop

just had a look at the ef/el one at pwr, looks sweet! looks a bit out of my league to make. but i think ill try!
if you have a sensor then its not such a porblem hey!

if you have a sensor then its not such a porblem hey! should be fun making one, let us know how it goes. i like to know its leaking before the low coolant light comes on but all that said im prob gona get one in the next month or so, need more bling under the hood.
