no advantages mate, just keep the breather plumbed the way it is. if anything, the standard setup is better as it draws fumes out of the motor with a slight vaccuum

i hear theirs like a $30k fine for allowing your breather to vent into atmosphere on a road car. ive heard of people setting them up to catch cans to cool down the air then re pipe it back to the throttle body, but i dont think you will notice any difference in performance, however ive heard from someone on a different forum, that after a while 100k kms, the manifold becomes lined with the oil, and a catch can keeps the manifold clean. but im not to sure on how true that is.

it is true, the manifold does get lined with oil...
it is more noticable on a turbo car where you get some blow by, all of the intake pipes and intercooler get lined with oil... unless the oil is excessive it shouldnt be causing you any problems...

it is particularly a problem in high powered cars (again mostly turbos), where the oil can interfere with air/fuel ratios and can cause detonation. but in a low powered NA 6, which probably runs rich anyway, its not a drama...

yep thats pretty much word for word what i was told by a shop worker when i asked about catch cans, i think the only advantage on a N/A 6 is that that air being piped to a catch can thro stainless steel wool, can cool down the temperature of that pcv air on its way back to the throttle body, but one again where talking minor probably unnoticeable difference in performance.
