Has anyone installed brighter headlights into an EL? wondering if its possible to put BA style lamps into EL headlight cases? my standard ones suck-a** and cant put brighter lamps in coz it yellows the lens. any suggestions? (budget friendly..)

Someone fitted BA lights to their EA. (just the reflectors, not the glass)

Do a search for it on the board.

I don't know if this would be easy on an EF/EL though, with their smaller lenses.

Yep, done by dellboy (sp?) and all went well; not sure if it will work on ef/el lights tho as the lights assy unit is smaller - nowhere to really fit an ba unit.

best option perhaps drive lights down in the front air-dam - EL Gli/Futuras don't have the brake duct vents like EF's & EL XR's & above have, but that'd be your best bet i'd imagine

already checked out the BA into EB setup. looks good. i dont wanna put the entire BA headlight assembly in, just the globe assembly into the existing EL casing and give it a bit of a boost in brightness. just sick of the crap lights, as i do a fair bit of country travel at night which is prime time for kangaroos. already munched the front of my skyline on one, an dont want to do it the falcon. even though that kangaroo came out second best. thank goodness for baseball bats and jack handles...

Its not so much the wattage bulb the car cant handle(EF/EL) its the chrome reflector stuff, and the lenses, if you could somehow convert the reflector to handle the heat..........

or upgrade your lights to the xenall bulbs for brighter output but less heat!

Get the full HID setup ... they only run at 35w ... and are about 3-4 times brighter and have way more definition than halogen.

Can cost a little bot of money ... but to me ... it's worth the while.
I'll be installing mine after I get the twinlight conversion,

I have a H4 kit at home for mine ... not sure what other people may need.
But the kits are available for all types of globes.

Comes with all ballasts ... wiring loom ... globes ... relays ... wiring diagram/book.

Cost me $550 for the full kit.
It's made by JSM.

Other kits are going for around the $1000 mark.

I got mine through a mate in Melb. and he has a supplier that can get them in. Although a friend of mine up here is getting several kits brought up for his rally team (and other rally teams as well).

connects up the same as your normal globes ... and wiring harness plugs dirrectly into factory light wiring loom ... just need to wire up to battery and relays ... and upgrade your normal fuse to a 20A from memory.

I have know where there is a write up on a Mitsu forum ... with pics of both lights (HID vs 90/100watt super white halogens).

I've seen one of those kits go in an auction for $350 on eBay.com.au...

Narva make the kits to, but your looking at between a grand to 1.5 for them...

if its mainly night time country driving thats the issue, why not wack on a decent set of spotties ?

some cibies or hella rally series will fix all your woes.
