wrong.

both runs were done with a f**k gearbox & stall..... have sinve replaced both with new and goes alot better now :)

an ideal ratio behind the btr 4 speed for 0-100 runs would be 4.50 gearing, but would be horrible on the highway

not this f**k argument again.

for the last time Im talking from my own experience with a set of 3.89s behind the au 4 speed.

It maxed 2nd at 110. endo-story.

It looks like the 3.73 actually got to 100 quicker than the 4.11 did

look what i f**k quoted

what argument? Your wrong about how 4.11's affect gear ratios, so what? Take it on board !!!

thats because wheels were spinning to 60kph and the gearbox & stall was f**k it bogged down once it gripped hence why i mentioned it

the vid was posted to show how 4.11's affect the speed vs gear, not because the car is a speed demon

anyone who sprouts on about 4.11's being too much for an auto hasnt a clue..... because an e-series T5 with 3.45 diff has even shorter gearing than a BTR auto with 4.11's

thanks for some actual advise rather than doubting me
so whats the rev range for the 1576 cam or wat ever it was?
il be changing to 3.7 diff gears in about a month but no bigger because the engine then doesnt use all of the torque if i say went to 4.11 or 3.9s
that head work you had done how much power did it giv u and could u notice the diffrence in sound and power
and with the cam i want something that sounds tuff, and kicks in so you can actualy feel it, btw i have a feeling my cam is a camtech dunno which one but iv been told they are pretty good
btw hav u guys herd of upgrading your ignition to an msd 6al i think it is and changing your fuel filter since my m8 had it done and massive diffrence in power im still yet to do it tho

replacing ignition and fuel filter will only give a gain if your current setup falls over in these areas...
fuel filter should be changed regulary anyway.
it seems to me that your chasing figures without much planning or thought about what you need.

you just had someone give you advice on gear ratios with a direct comparison and results and you just ignored it lol.

if you really want power you will need to raise the compression and port the head.
find out exactly what cam you have at the moment and go from there.
for all you know your cam could get massive gains from porting the head and raising comp.

these people saying that you can get 170rwkw out of the 1673 with a stock head are talking out there a** lol. how many 170rwkw n/a falcons do you see full stop, let alone with a mild cam.

people who have spent some time on this site know the car im talking about...

its an EA and has recorded a 13.8 1/4 and done 162 km/h terminal speed...

these are facts not opinions

well im 17 and have had the car for only 2 years and have only started performance stuff bout the last 5months so no i dont know alot,

what i have done is research almost every possible way to gain power from looking at the way the engine runs and so fourth also asking my tuner who pretty much only works on e series falcons about what to do.

so your telling me every cam responds diffrently to the compression your running??? have ou herd of raising the lobes on the crank shaft which gives u slitghly less revs ( almost un noticable) but makes the piston move up further producing more compression???

Grechie's car is a freak, no other 1673 equipped car has got anywhere near it.

dont worry about all that stuff mate lol.
your 17. enjoy the car.
get some better dif gears and some port work if you really want more power and it will be a good package.
you're not going to get much more than 150rwkw without really high comp and a rebuild to suit the 6500rpm or more you'll want to spin it to.

cams are made with certain engine specs in mind, so yes, different cams will give different results with a differet compression ratios.
the easiest way to get higher comp is to shave the head.

cheers
yer i enjoy my car but iv gotten used to the power tho, and so im gonna do every single thing i can to make this car as fast as it can go n/a and also random custom stuff like the interior whihc iv done all of it red n black
ne ways like i said once i get the head work done il tell you all the power increase
just incase any one else is thinking of getting it done

btw how much does a fairly hot cam cost?
and has any one got like a flat six or even made it into the 5's for the 0-100 even if it was a stop watch recording since my car got 8 seconds before i got everything done and that was with 3 ppl in the car.

so has anyone herd of lifting the lobes on the crankshaft?

'lifting' the lobes i have never heard of.
theres no point. if you wanted you could deck the block which would have the same effect.
billet cams (what you would call a hot cam i guess lol) can range in price from 300-500.
a manual would make the car much more fun to drive also.
but short of fitting a turbo, you're not going to get much more out of it without losing driveability

nah down the track i will replace the engine but for now need it fast as can be, what sort of loss of drivability we talking bout?
whats decking the block?
my dads m8 got the lobes raise( actualy he got a diffrent crankshaft with higher lobes) and he went from 11.22 to a 11.17 at the quater that is a 308 tho so weather that makes a diffrence
