ITS NOT LIKE THEYLL TAKE OFF THE ROCKER COVER TO INSPECT THE CAMS IN TIME OF A CRASH!!!

haha, imagine that! then theyll need the correct tools to measure the diffrence between a stock or modified..never heard of such a thing

i definatly wouldnt bother.

i doubt they will ever pull an engine apart to see whats inside it. and if they did, a regrind i doubt they would even be able to tell the difference. and you do you can always take the it was liekt hat when i got it approach.

Lol - depends if you've got pics up on the internet of you and your mates changing the cam... holding two forms of government ID and a correctly dated newspaper ;)

Legally you're obliged to tell them... if you think you can get away with it then you'd be mad not to... but then, you give up all rights to b**ch if they find out and knock you back on a claim...

As above, i really doubt they'd go to the effort... but there's the slim chance if you're involved in a multi milion dollar claim (i dunno.. let's say 5 ferraris rear end each other and you hit the one at the back of the queue...)... they'll analyse every last bit of that car.

Ring up anonymously and ask what they're policy is and what the premium difference is... for an extra few bucks per annum, might be some good piece of mind...

i take it you're talking about the cam that was in the car when you bought it, right? i mean, it only feels like its a bit different, but you cant prove something is different? right? *nudge nudge, wink wink"

Camshaft?
Is that the thing that I hook the trailer onto?
I doubt any insurance company will spot a non-stocker cam, especially if it's a regrind.

But you did say you were with just cars and dont they have something like 12 mods before they start jacking up the premium?

Could be worth a try to ring and ask, as i would say just cars would be cool with a cam. RACV, NRMA etc could be a different story though..

a vac guage tells you every thing. Most cams have a lump and unless they are mild or well disguised, a vac guage will tell what it is every time. No removal of any components, just shove it in to the PCV hose

Im with SGIO only cause there the only ones that would insure me for full cover, and i told them about my 17's extractors, exhaust and cam and mine didnt go up at all.. I wouldnt bother telling them about the cam only reason i did was because it wouldnt cost me any more
