Looking at purchasing a cam for my VCT and these seem to be the only guys that offer one. Anyone ever had one???

Not for a vct but i had one in my EB for years, stage one (so no shims or ecu needed) was a bloody great cam. Gave me the nickname "supercharger Benne" due to the wine the cam has. I love the sound of the car now being a turbo but that cam with the sports exhaust was a beautiful thing, Sounded better i reckon.
I would throw it in my EL if i didn't want to keep it stock.

if your cam had a "whine" then i'd say their were serious valvetrain problems. Broken chain guide maybe?

not necessarily.. RPD's R6 profile had a distinct whine aswell.. in our case it was definately the cam profile..

sorry whine probably isnt the right word.. maybe more a whistle?

Check my specs, I tried to look for a cam (everywhere) they dont do for VCT. Actually Jim Mock do cam for VCT but cost $$$ and i beleive wont make any different performance!

So i have to leave standard cam....

Cheers

I was told by the camtech guys that it would wine before i even bought it. Its to do with the profile on the cam.

And a broken chain guide makes a rattling sound not a wine (my EL had one).

ok then i didnt know cams made noises.

and broken guides can make a whine sound, mine did as the guide broke at the tensioner.

A member here under the name of "alfy" bought an EL mont and said it made a whine sound which he thought sounded good and never got it checked out. A few weeks later the aux shaft seized

Ok fair enough, my el rattled like crazy due to the timing chain slapping down the side of the timing cover, presumed they all would.

Ouch seized aux shaft, now that would be fun to do..... NOT!

Great cams. Speak to Malcom he will help you.
