How can i change a 4.0lt haed to a 4.1lt head?Will it go straight on?
Also,how the heck to i renove the head as the book tells me to loosen the chain tension and place the sprocket and chain to the front of the head but i cannot get the chain to untension as i think i have blown the gasket as i have oil on 2 spark plugs and have 4 cyls running.No water in oil but coolent serge tank bubbling!!!!!!!

The 4.1 litre head will not swap over! The tension is released via the tensioner on the left hand side of the block. Gregorys manuals show you how to do that.

Thanks for the info,
My brother has a 4.1 lt and said if i needed it i could have it to save $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Back to square 1.
many Thanks for the info supplied as this is my first head problem and i am learning as i go from the gregorys manual.

you will be able to find a cheap head to suit an eb, ef el standard heads can be had for 50 bucks (not recod) wont cost u a fortune mate

Arn't the 4.1 head from the old 250's push rods and that and so the cam is in the bottom end were your E-series are OHC so the cam is above the head wouldn't work!

As its been pointed out. A 4.1 is a push rod motor, and a 4.0 has an over head cam.

Like trying to fit a v8 head on an i6.. chalk and cheese.
